Timing Belts

Timing belts are toothed rubber belts that connect the crankshaft to the camshaft, when the crankshaft rotates it turns the camshaft by means of the toothed belt. Timing belts are one of the hardest working components of an engine; they wear naturally and require replacement after a set time or mileage interval. Each car manufacturer will recommend different replacement intervals for different models. Failure to follow the manufacturer’s guidelines can lead to damage and costly repairs.

In addition to replacing the timing belt it is equally important to replace the belt tensioners, idle rollers and associated parts, as these are just as prone to wear and failure as the belt itself. On some vehicles the timing belt also drives the water pump which itself is prone to failing. Where applicable our quotes will include replacement of the timing belt, tensioners idlers, water pump and new coolant. Therefore you know the true cost of the replacement should all parts be required.
